Gwendolyn Szymanski

Gwendolyn Szymanski, who goes by 'Gwen', is a Slayer and an Army CAG veteran. She was born in Gdansk, Poland and moved with her family to Tuscon, AZ when she was 5 years old. Always fascinated with "Commandos", as a kid she often played with Green Army Men, BB guns and read Soldier of Fortune magazine. She made the decision to become a "Commando" early in her life and it carried all the way to the recruitment center right after graduating high school. After some bickering between her and the recruiter, she managed to enlist as an 18X (Special Forces Candidate). After putting a couple years in, she was selected to attend Ranger School and after graduating, was placed in 2nd Ranger Battalion. Four years and 2 deployments later, she was scouted by a Unit recruiter and was pulled into The Unit (Delta Force) after being made to pass various qualification courses as they were looking for a very specific person-type and skill set. She would finish out her time in the Army 6 years later at 30 years old with 12 years of service and 8 deployments under her belt with 5 of them with 1st SFOD-D. Right after discharging from The Unit in Ft. Bragg, she packed up her car and, instead of going home, she took a 3-month trip from coast-to-coast. Starting in North Carolina, she went in a zig-zag east to west and concluded her trip in Los Angeles, CA. From there, she returned home to Tuscon and took another 3 months to relax while she figured out her next move. Originally intending to go to school for psychology, she was swayed by a friend who was a retired Recon Marine to join his private security company. Since the money was so good, she decided to join on with the intention of "only doing it for a year". However, she found that she was very good at it and decided instead to start her own company.
